Security Manager
Locally Engaged Staff: Full time position
Salary : 45 268€ Annual Gross Salary (Paid in 13Months instalments)

About the position
Lead the security team and, under the direction of the Post Security Officer, manage all aspects of security for the Chancery and residential compound. The position takes a leading role in the discussion, development, drafting and management of all security related policies and procedures. The position supports coordinated management during an emergency response.
The key responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to
- Manage the embassy’s Security Section, including the contracted security guarding personnel.
- Develop, review and maintain the Post Security Instructions, Emergency Procedures, Personal Security Awareness Briefing Notes, and SOPs for security at the mission and other relevant security documentation and procedures, including operation of relevant equipment (CCTV, access systems, etc).
- Undertake regular security assessments and exercises to provide specialist advice for the delivery of effective security services for the mission.
- Assist in the management and assessment of security requirements for major visits by official VIPs and events external to the Chancery.
- Provide specialist advice to senior officers represented at post on post security and safety issues.
- Effective liaison and negotiation with relevant French Government security agencies.
- Maintain close relationships with professional security managers from like-minded missions.
Qualifications/Experience
- Detailed knowledge of local authority procedures and workings.
- Ability to form and maintain key relationships.
- Detailed knowledge of local laws.
- Proven project and event management skills.
- Ability to work independently, set and meet deadlines.
- Ability to prioritise and work independently.
- Fluency in both French and English
- This is a security-designated position. Applicants must be a national of Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United States or United Kingdom. The selected candidate will be required to successfully complete a security assessment to the appropriate level. Persons holding dual French nationality are not eligible for a security clearance for this position.
